specialized training—encore
After traveling around the mission the last few weeks and training about working with members, it seems only right to share a wonderful experience that happened this evening, the direct result of working with members.
A month ago, the missionaries challenged the members in ward council to have every single member of the ward fast for a woman who is the wife of a member. She has been “investigating” the church for about six years now. She comes to church with her family and even has “an assignment.”
This past week on Sunday, the Bishop told the missionaries that he texted the lady and told her that they would be waiting for her at the church on Saturday with the font filled and baptismal clothes ready. On Monday, the missionaries went by and taught her a short lesson and asked her about her feelings on the baptismal date and she pretty much said that she had no intention of being baptized on Saturday. On Tuesday, the Bishop called and asked the elders to go with him to her house. They bore their testimonies and left. On Wednesday, the missionaries, full of faith, told her that she needed to have a baptismal interview. She said that she wasn’t going to get baptized on Saturday, but agreed to have the interview. After the interview, they asked her to bear her testimony. Listening to that, one of the missionaries said that it was the most spiritual moment of his mission.
She came this evening for a follow-up interview with Presidente. After a while, Presidente came out of his office and invited the missionaries to come in and sit down. Then she announced that she was getting baptized. They asked, “Tomorrow?!?!” and she said, “Nope.” Then Presidente said that she was getting baptized right now.
Right now, meaning as soon as the font could be filled, which actually takes about three hours. She was baptized tonight, thanks to her family, her ward, the missionaries and her personal testimony, all working together to fulfill the purposes of Lord.
Después de viajar por toda la misión, este mes y entrenar acerca de como trabajar con miembros, me parece bien compartir una experiencia buenísima que paso esta noche, el resultado directo de trabajar con los miembros.
Hace un mes, los misioneros hablaron con el concilio de su barrio y les pidieron que cada miembro del barrio ayune por la esposa de un miembro. Ella ha estado investigando la iglesia hace seis anos.
Ella viene a la iglesia con su familia y tiene una tarea semanal.
El domingo de la semana pasada el obispo les dijo a los misioneros que el mando un mensaje de texto a esta mujer y le dijo que el sábado el va a la iglesia y que la va a esperar con lo ropa lista y la pila llena.
El lunes los misioneros fueron a su casa y enseñaron una lección corta y le preguntaron acerca de sus sentimientos acerca de su fecha bautismal. Ella les dijo que en realidad no tuvo la intención de ser bautizada el Sábado.
El Martes el obispo los llamo a los elderes y les pidió ir a la casa de esta mujer con el. Ellos fueron y compartieron sus testimonios y salieron. El Miércoles, los misioneros, llenos de fe le dijeron que ella va a necesitar tener una entrevista para su bautismo. Ella les dijo que no voy a bautisarme esta Sábado pero bueno, voy a ir a la entrevista. Después de la entrevista le pidieron compartir su testimonio. Escuchandole, un misionero dijo que fue el momento mas espiritual de su misión.
Ella vino esta noche para su entrevista de seguimiento con el Presidente. Después de algunos momentos el Presidente salio de su oficina e invito a los misioneros a venir y sentarse. Ella anuncio a los elderes que si ella va a bautisarse. Ellos preguntaron, Mañana. y les dijo que No. El Presidente dijo que ella va a bautisarse ahora!
Ahora significa cuando la pila bautismal esta llena, y en realidad va a ser en casi tres horas.
Ella fue bautizada esta noche gracias a su familia, su barrio, los misioneros y mas que nada su testimonio personal.

specialized training—castelar & oeste
I love the lineup!
Me encanto la fila de sospechoses.
Obvio, estos tres no me tuvieron a mi de maestra de segundo grado. Hubiera tratado de enseñarles otra manera de sostener sus lápices. Sin embargo, sus maneras están funcionando perfectamente para ellos y Elder Dorius ha hecho toda la obra prep escribiendo las carteles que han hecho. De hecho la obra prep es mucho y estamos agradecidos por ella.
These three clearly did not have me for their second grade teacher. I would have tried to teach them another way to hold their pencil. However, their method seems to work perfectly well for them, and Elder Dorius has done all the prep work writing for the posters that we have been making. In actual fact, the prep work is significant and we sure appreciate his effort.

specialized training—ramos mejia & aldo bonzi
We did a double training session. The assistants worked in the cultural hall and Presidente taught in the chapel. In the afternoon, the groups switched. I have been doing an introduction to Presidente’s workshop. Included in that introduction is a youtube video with Alex Boye and Carmen Rasmussen.You can watch it by clicking on the link below.
Hicimos una sesión doble hoy. Los asistentes trabajaron en la sala cultural y el Presidente y yo enseñamos en la capilla. Por la tarde, los grupos cambiaron. He estado haciendo una introducción al taller del Presidente. Incluso en esta introducción hay un video de youtube con Alex Boye y Carmen Rasmussen. Puede verlo por medio del link abajo.

chivilcoy district conference in bragado
Presidente and I have spent the weekend in Campo. It turned out that the truckers are having a strike, and it has been very difficult to buy gasoline, so it is a good thing we had not planned to be driving back and forth. I love the beauty of the Campo with its wide open spaces. We had a perfect night for checking out the stars of the southern skies. I even talked about it at church today. I said that they are the same stars we see from the city, but they seem brighter here, probably because there is less light. The same is true for the members. Their light shines brighter because there are not so many of them and it is therefore, really important.
For me, the only disadvantage in Campo is that it is colder than in the city.
El Presidente y yo pasamos el fin de semana en campo. Paso que los camioneros están de paro y ha sido muy difícil comprar gasolina entonces es una buena cosa que no planeamos manejar de un lado a otro. Me encanto la belleza del campo con sus espacios anchos y abiertos. Tuvimos una noche perfecta para mirar las estrellas de los cielos del sur. Hasta hable acerca de los en la iglesia hoy. Les dije que ellas son las mismas estrellas que podemos ver la ciudad pero parecen mas brillantes aquí. tal vez porque hay menos luz. La misma cosa aplica a los miembros. Su luz esta mas brillante porque no hay muchos de ellos entonces son muy importantes. Para mi la única desventaja del campo es que hace mas frio que en la ciudad.
