Even though they have the farthest to come, all of the missionaries from the Chivilcoy Zone were at the church when we showed up this morning 40 minutes early. The zone leaders told me that they had 12 of the 16 elders in the zone at their pension last night. When I asked if they all showed up at once, he reminded me of their various bus schedules that meant missionaries showed up at 10:30pm, 12:00am, 12:30am, 4:00am and 4:30am. You never would have known that most of them spent what sleeping hours they had, on a bus. I have to say that they were all alert and attentive and we had a really great day with them!
Aunque ellos están muy lejos de la capilla, todo los misioneros de la zona Chivilcoy estaban cuando llegamos 40 minutos temprano esta mañana. Los líderes de la zona me dijeron que 12 de 16 de los elderes en su zona durmieron en su pensión anoche. Cuando les pregunte si todos llegaron juntos, ellos me contestaron que había horarios diferentes de todos los colectivos. Significa que los misioneros llegaron a las 10:30pm, 12am, 12:30am, 4:00am y 4:30am. Nunca hubiéramos sabido que ellos durmieron la mayoría de la noche en un colectivo. Quiero decir que ellos estuvieron alerta y atentos. Tuvimos un día buenísimo con ellos.
With a zone as spread out and far apart as the missionaries are in this zone, they don’t get together once a week like the other zones in the mission. Nevertheless, they is a special comradeship among them.
Con una zona grande en área como esta zona ellos no pueden reunirse una vez cada semana como las otras zonas en le misión. Sin embargo, hay un camaradería especial entre ellos.
Growing these branches and having the local members take over the major leadership responsibilities are two of the goals of the mission.
Hacer crecer las ramas y tener miembros locales llevando a cabo las mayores responsabilidades de liderazgo son dos metas de la misión.
I had to take a picture of the hamburgers that were provided for lunch today. There are a few missionaries that lose weight in our mission, but not many. These hamburgers looked like they had At Least a pound of meat on each one. They came complete with the usual Argentine accompaniments: lettuce, tomatoes, onions, cheese and a fried egg. French fries were on the side. Tuve que sacar una foto de las hamburguesas que ellos tuvieron para el almuerzo hoy. Hay pocos misioneros que bajaron de peso en nuestra misión pero no hay muchos. Estas hamburguesas parecen como que cada una tenia 1/2 kilo de carne. Ellas tuvieron todas las cosas normales de las hamburguesas en Argentina como lechuga, tomates, cebollas, queso y un huevo frito. Había papas fritas al lado.
Someday, my husband and I would like to serve a mission similar to the ones our couple missionaries serve. They are assigned to a branch and work to strengthen the members there. Both of these couples are from Boston, well, not originally, but for many years now. They speak Spanish, but it is not necessary. We can use couples in many ways in the mission. And…We would love to have more!!!
Algun día, a mi esposo y a mi nos gustaría servir una misión como las misiones de nuestros misioneros casados. Ellos tienen un asignación para trabajar en una rama y fortalecer los miembros allá. Estos parejas eran de Boston hace muchos anos pero originalmente, no. Ellos hablan castellano pero no es necesario. Podemos usar parejas de muchas maneras en la misión. Y...nos gustaría tener mas parejas como ellos!
