The office elders have a saying that every time they need to run an errand, it is like being on the television show, The Amazing Race. I had an Amazing Race experience this morning in Capital trying to get Brianna’s DNI card renewed (official government ID). We went to Migrations, the Embassy, the Police Department, the Embassy again, and the Police Department again. We still don’t have the DNI.
Thankfully, we got in and out of the city before hundreds of thousands of Argentines began one of the biggest protest marches in recent history. (This would be the day that I am super happy the downtown is NOT part of our mission. However, I am sure that the missionaries there were well cared for and probably safely inside their own pensions.)
I missed a few of the elders in Marcos Paz, but when I arrived and shared with them all the challenges of the morning, we had such a good laugh and they all could totally relate to the frustrations of the morning!
It is exciting and surprising how many of the missionaries have siblings and close friends that have their papers turned in to serve missions and a bunch of them actually have their calls now.
It turns out that we are only going to get one of the missionaries we were expecting this transfer, but we are starting to see an increase in those that have been assigned to our mission down the way a few transfers. I think I am going to have to learn to cope with waiting.
*Elders Smith and Ortega were not here today, since they had their interviews last week.
Hermana Carter Los elderes de la oficina tienen un dicho que cada vez que ellos necesitan hacer algo afuera de la oficina es como una episodio de The Amazing Race. Tuve una experiencia de The Amazing Race esta mañana en Capital tratando de renovar el DNI de Brianna. Fuimos a Migraciones, La Embajada, al Departamento de Policía, La Embajada otra vez y al Departamento de Policía otra vez. Todavía no tenemos el DNI.
Por suerte fuimos y regresamos de la ciudad antes de cientos de miles de Argentinos empezaron uno de los protestos mas grandes en su historia reciente
Hoy es el día que estoy súper feliz que cCapital no es una parte de nuestra misión. Sin embargo, estoy segura que los misioneros allí estuvieron bien cuidados y probablemente ellos estuvieron adentro de sus pensiones seguros.
No llegue a ver algunos de los elderes de Marcos Paz pero cuando llegue y compartí todos los desafíos de la mañana con ellos, nos reímos mucho y todos pudieron entender mis frustraciones de la mañana!
Es muy emocionante y sorprendente como muchos de los misioneros tienen hermanos y amigo que ya han entregado sus papeles para servir misiones y algunas de ellos tienen sus llamamientos también.
Vamos a recibir solamente uno de los que estábamos esperando este traslado pero estamos empezando a ver mas misioneros asignados a nuestro misión en algunos traslados. Pienso que voy a aprender a manejar la espera.
Los Elderes Smith y Ortega no estaban aquí hoy porque ellos tuvieron sus entrevistas la semana pasada.
