We had the most amazing storm. Some of the missionaries said that they have never seen rain come down like that…and you know, that we get rain here!
When we finally arrived after our treacherous journey, out came the missionaries from the chapel, with umbrellas to guard us and arms to help us with all of our supplies.
One of the good things about the storm is that it dropped the temperatures by about 30 degrees! Everyone was a little bit wet. We laughed about how before the mission that would have been a super inconvenience, but now, something like that really is just no big deal.
I think all of the missionaries were wearing rain boots and protective outerwear.  One elder showed me how each of his legs were wrapped in large trash bags before putting on his boots to protect his suit even above the boots. It is such a nice show of respect that the elders arrive with new haircuts and everyone is looking their best for their interviews. Presidente told me that every missionary that he has interviewed so far has brought along a paper with their current goals to share during their discussion.


Tuvimos una tormenta increíble. Algunos de los misioneros dijeron que ellos nunca han visto lluvia como esta...saben que tenemos lluvia acá.

Al fin, cuando llegamos, después de nuestro viaje muy peligroso, los misioneros vinieron de la capilla afuera con paraguas para protegernos y con brazos para ayudarnos con todas nuestras cosas.

Una cosa buena acerca de la tormenta es que la temperatura cayo mas o menos 15 grados. Todos estaban un poco mojados. Nos reímos como antes de la misión hubiera sido algo súper inconveniente pero ahora, aló así es case nada.

Pienso que todos los misioneros estaban llevando botas de lluvia y abrigos para protección. Un elder me mostró como cada pierna estaba a dentro una bolsa de basura grande antes de ponerse sus botas para proteger su traje arriba de sus botas. En un signo especial de respecto que los elderes llegaron con su pelo recién cortado y llevando su mejor ropa para entrevistas. El Presidente me dijo que hasta ahora cada misionero ha llegado con un papel con sus metas para compartir durante su entrevista.
