transfers

Our two Colombian sisters and our American sister that spent the night and most of yesterday a-l-o-n-e in Dallas arrived!
And then the missionaries started arriving, coming in for the transfer. It is so COLD this morning. Everyone is shivering!!!!!!!

When school ended, our daughter replaced one of the mini missionaries that had to leave the transfer early. She is continuing to work in the mission for a little while. I received my first ever missionary letter this past week. I have to say, it was pretty exciting! She said she wants to live like a real missionary, and we can’t treat her special. So…when she got sick the other day and her companion called me, I told her companion to call the mission doctor, just like I would have told any missionary that called. I also called the zone leaders to request an interview with her today. The zone leader that I spoke with was really wondering what was going on and he even said, “Isn’t she your daughter?” Yes, yes, she is, but she wants the real experience, short as it may be, so will you just call her and tell her to be in the offices at 9:30?

These are the missionaries that are training this transfer. Several of them received companions named Elder Futuro. Those are elders that will arrive sometime in the next few days. It was quite comic at the transfer meeting because the trainer always comes forward to receive their new companion. The slide show that I run on the blog is actually a PowerPoint, so it goes much slower. Anyway, when the trainer came forward, he didn’t know if he was Actually going to receive a Refuerzo or not!
