Today the hermanas told me that this chapel is the oldest one in Argentina. I have posted about it before because it is the same building that has the chairs where a prophet sat that you can see again in the first picture. However, today I learned that they have a little museum upstairs.
They have kept the original pulpit, one of the sewing machines, a mimeograph machine, a film projector, a spotlight and a filmstrip player.
Wow! I can remember using all of these items or actually items that looked exactly like them. My husband had his own filmstrip player on his mission, and when he carried it around, the little kids in Peru thought that he was CIA and that he had guns inside…not even kidding.
Well the pictures are taken through glass, but it was kind of fun thinking about those good old machines we used to think were soooo awesome. Poor Hermana Casas-Cordero didn’t even know what to say when I told her that I used to use all of those items!
But back to the most important part! The missionaries that are serving in Caseros today.
Hoy las hermanas me dijeron que esta capilla es la mas vieja en Argentina. Ya he escrito acerca de esta capilla porque es el mismo edificio que tiene las sillas donde el profeta se sentó que puedan ver otra vez en la primera foto. Sin embargo aprendí hoy que ellos tienen un museo pequeño arriba.
Ellos han mantenido el púlpito original, una maquina de coser, una maquina de mimeógrafo, un proyector de cine, un proyector de tira de película y una luz focal.
En serio! Puedo recordar usar todos estas cosas o algo muy similar. Mi esposo tuvo su propio proyector de tira de película en su misión y cuando lo llevo, los chicos de Peru pensaron que el era CIA y que el llevo pistolas adentro...no es un chiste.
Las fotos están detrás del vidrio, pero fue muy divertido pensar acerca de las maquinas pasadas que pensábamos eran muy buenísimas. Pobre Hermana Casas Cordero no sabia que pensar cuando le dije que usaba todas.
Pero volviendo a la cosa mas importante que nada...los misioneros que están sirviendo en Caseros hoy.
