it’s not red eye week

A few hours after the Americans arrived yesterday, we also got a missionary from Brazil. He joined us later this afternoon, but will do the orientation with the missionaries coming next week.


One of our Pastor hermanas that was caught in the cross-fire of the mini transfer asked me how we were coping with Red Eye Week. I had to laugh…that’s not until next week! But with our mini-transfer here, it feels a little bit like red eye week.
It was a beautiful sunny, but very cold, morning at the Parque Tres de Febrero.



Then we went down to see the Rio de la Plata and catch a glimpse of the city, as well.






We had orientation and lunch and Presidente did the interviews at the house. Afterwards, we went back to Ramos Mejia to announce the companionships.


The elders are going to work in groups of three until the regular transfer date next week.





In a very short time, as a mission, we have gone from 19 hermanas to 41. We have been preparing for this moment for quite a while. However, the Latin sisters that arrived just 5 weeks ago have had an extra pressure. As of today, we have some of those hermanas “training” hermanas that have just arrived, but actually have more time as a missionary than they do. However, at this point, having the language is a bonus. I just have to say that we have been blessed with such capable sister missionaries! It is easy to see the love and excitement for the gospel that they bring.
Afterwards, one of the “new trainers” told me that when she got the phone call yesterday, she was feeling quite desperate and knelt down to pray. A scripture came into her mind:
“And I was led by the Spirit, not knowing beforehand the things which I should do.”


We have every confidence that the Spirit will indeed lead them as they participate in this worthy cause. We rejoice in their faith and spirit of hope.
We just love our hermanas!





Algunas horas después de la llega de los norteamericanos también llego un misionero de Brazil. El se junto con nosotros esta tarde pero va a hacer la orientación con los misioneros la semana que viene.

Una de nuestras pastoras hermanas que fue en el medio del mini traslado me pregunto como es la semana de ojos rojos. Tuve que reír...no es esta semana, es la próxima! Pero con nuestro mini traslado parece un poquito como la semana de ojos rojos.

Fue un día lindo y soleado pero con mucho frío en el Parque 3 de Febrero. Después fuimos a ver el Rio de la Plata y ver la ciudad de lejos también.

Orientamos y almorzamos y el Presidente hizo las entrevistas en la casa. Después volvemos a Ramos Mejía anunciar los compañerismos. Los elderes van a trabajar en grupos de tres hasta el traslado normal la próxima semana.

En tiempo muy corto, como una misión, fuimos de 19 hermanas a 41. No hemos estado preparando para este momento hace algunos meses. Sin embargo las hermanas latinas que llegaron hace 5 semanas tienen presión extra. Desde hoy, algunas de ellas están entrenando hermanas que justo llegaron pero en realidad tienen mas tiempo como una misionera que ellas. En este momento el idioma es un bonus. Quiero decir que tenemos hermanas capas! Es fácil de ver su amor y animo que ellas trajeron.

Después de todo hoy, una de las entrenadores nuevas me dijo que cuando ella recibió el llamado por teléfono ayer ella se sentía muy débil y decidió orar. Una escritura vino a su mente

E iba guiado por el Espíritu, sin saber antemano lo que tendría que hacer.

Tenemos la confianza que el Espíritu vaya a guiarla mientras ella participa en esta causa digna. Nos regocijamos en su fe y espíritu de esperanza. Amamos a nuestra hermanas.
