snow flurries for the pastores

It snows in Buenos Aires next to never, but there were definitely snow flurries yesterday and today. It is super cold! The Pastores are all smiles on the steps of the Colon Theater anticipating their tour of the city.

This hallway is particularly stunning with opposite mirrors reflecting forever forward and back. The Colon Theater was restored, but they left a few places un-cleaned. On the column in the hallway there is a dark square where you can see what it used to look like.

When we ask the missionaries, the best part of the day, they often say the trip to Boca. Elder Lopez is hanging out there with the soccer champion.DSC03999
The missionaries have lunch at Siga La Vaca. It means Follow the Cow. It is an Argentine parilla where you eat all you want. Everyone is always ready for the walk across the Women’s Bridge afterwards.

Close to the Recoleta cemetery is a shop that sells handcrafted Argentine goods. I wasn’t feeling well yesterday, and I was worse today, so I decided not to go on the tour. Presidente went over to the shop early and bought me something I had asked about previously. One of the things that I love about Argentina is that they are normally willing to customize anything. In this case, it was a belt buckle that they made into a necklace for me!

The last stop is at the old log in the Parque Tres de Febrero.  We call it “our log” now. These missionaries are returning home, but their influence will remain in Argentina forever.
