ending june in junin with the hermanas

There are more than 3 million Argentines with family roots in Germany. One of my favorite foods, facturas, also known as medialunas, are based off of German croissants. Nevertheless, it was a surprise to arrive in Junin and see a town that seemed as if it was transported right out of Germany.
Junin is about three hours from Buenos Aires. We set off Saturday afternoon and arrived before dark, just in time to get a quick glimpse of the city.
It is a pretty town, located on the Salado River amid the Pampas, which is the grain belt in Argentina. We saw many soy fields, but much of the grassland is also used for cattle, which we saw being transported in double decker cattle trucks along the highway.
Nowadays, Junin is also a resort destination for those who like to participate in lake sports, especially fishing. We had a nice “working” dinner with the hermanas last night at a local cafeteria that specializes in seafood ravioles.
Junin also has a claim to fame as the birthplace of Evita Peron and the town where she spent her childhood.

Hay mas de tres millones de Argentinos con familiares en Alemania. Una de mis comidas favoritas es facturas, también conocidas como medialunas son de los croissants de Alemana.

Junín esta mas o menos a tres horas de Buenos Aires. Empezamos el Sábado después de mediodía y llegamos cuando todavía había luz, justo para ver los edificios de la ciudad.

Es un lugar lindo cerca del rió Salado entre las pampas. Las pampas están donde hay muchos campos con granos. Vimos muchos campos con soja pero hay muchos campos para ganado y vimos el ganado en camines con dos niveles en la ruta.

Ahora Junín es una ciudad done la gente le gusta ir para descansar y participar en deportes del lago especialmente como pescar. Cenamos con las hermanas en una cafetería que tiene como su especialidad ravioles del mar.

Junín también es conocido como el lugar donde Evita Perón nació y paso su juventud.
