World friendship day has been celebrated for many years in many countries, however, last year the United Nations designated July 30 as the official International Friendship Day.
In Argentina, Friendship Day has traditionally been celebrated on the 20 of July to commemorate the Moon Landing on that date. It began when Dr. Enrique Ernesto Febbraro, sent letters to a hundred countries around the world upon realizing that, by watching the Apollo landing, for the first time all mankind was united.
All over Argentina today one can hear the happy greeting, Feliz Dia del Amigo!
As missionaries, we honor our True Friend everyday as we take the gospel message to all of our friends in Argentina.
John 15:15-16 Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you. 16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain…
Happy Friendship Day!
Juan 15:5-6
Feliz Día del Amigo!
