an early morning trip to the ccm & then to lujan

In the past the CCM here in Argentina has trained mostly Latin missionaries. However, they have also trained North Americans bound for Uruguay and Paraguay. With a capacity for about 90 missionaries, they stay full training those groups. So, we were a little surprised six weeks ago,  when we received the notice that one of our North American missionaries was going to do his training here! He finished that training today.
As a side note, I normally don’t have pictures available to me of our missionaries before their missions. On their last day, here at the mission home, I invite all of our missionaries to be my friend on Facebook, and we have a private site set up for missionaries that have served with us. So, that is when I normally get the first glimpse of before and after. Nevertheless, as it turns out, I do have a before and after picture of this missionary, and I have his permission to post it. It is a reminder of the varied and different talents our missionaries have developed before coming to us.

When missionaries come off transfer, they are likely to find themselves in the midst of any number of activities. Our new missionary went with us to pick up facturas at the local panaderia and juice at the local mercadito this morning.

Then he joined us for two sessions of district meetings in Lujan.

Afterwards, we grabbed his companion and the four of us had lunch together before taking him to his apartment, or as the missionaries say…to the pench. We had a little laugh about it because the one on the right has not been completed and is quite rustic…fortunately, they live in the pench on the left.

  1. Thank you Sister Carter for this wonderful blog and for posting these pictures. It was so good to see my boys face. It definitely brought on the tears (of happiness, of course). This blog is such a blessing to all the families of these missionaries, you do an amazing job keeping it up to date. Thank you again
