My favorite part of the meeting was watching the sweetest little 85 year old convert. He is hunched over from the effects of osteoporosis and nearly blind, but today he passed the Sacrament for the first time. He attended to 5 of the members while the other Priesthood bearers took care of the rest of the congregation. And…he was beaming from ear to ear to have the privilege to do so. I couldn’t help thinking how Sister Azcurra, who taught him, would have loved to have seen him “in action” today. She has since returned home, but the legacy of her love in sharing the gospel remains, as it does for all of our dear returned missionaries.
We were invited, along with the hermanas that currently serve in the ward, to the home of a member for a bite to eat after church. I am 5’2’ tall, so I think that means that our hostess must be 4’2”. We certainly appreciate the love that was extended to us and to our missionaries. I know there are members who look after our missionaries all over the mission, and I am thankful for each and every one.
Si! estuvimos en Castelar el domingo pasado para la conferencia de la estaca y estuvimos en Castelar hablando en la reunión sacramental hoy.
Mi parte preferida de la reunión fue mirar a un converso que tiene 85 anos. El esta encorvado por los efectos de la osteoporosis y casi ciego, pero hoy el repartió la santa cena por primera vez. El ofreció a 5 miembros de la congregación mientras los otros hombres del Sacerdocio ayudaron a todos los otros de la congregación. Y el estaba sonriendo de oreja a oreja por la oportunidad de hacerlo. No pude parar de pensar como a la Hermana Azcurra, quien le enseño, hubiera amado verle en acción hoy. Ya ella esta en su propia casa, pero el legado de su influencia de compartí el evangelio quedo, como ocurre con todos de nuestros queridos misioneros retornados.
Estuvimos invitados con las hermanas que están en el barrio ahora a la casa de un miembro para almorzar después de la reunión. Tengo 1,57m entonces, pienso que nuestra anfitriona tiene 1,27m. Estábamos agradecidos por el amor que fue extendido a nosotros y nuestras misioneras. Se que hay miembros que están cuidando a nuestros misioneros a lo largo de toda la misión y estoy agradecida por cado uno de ellos.
