the cultural event

After the mission picture, we all piled into school buses. (Yes, the school buses are orange and white in Argentina.) We traveled to the Club Atletico Independiente which is the stadium where yet another soccer team plays.

It was quite different having four hours with pretty much nothing to do but hang out with one another. This kind of thing never happens in the mission. I have to say that it was pretty fun just chatting. The missionaries all brought their own picnic style dinners. Often members would stop by to chat as well. And, you should have heard the cheers when the big screens around the stadium featured the missionaries.



The cultural event told the story of the history of the church in Argentina through song and dance. Brianna was able to be a part of the dance group.
Finally it was the missionaries turn. The music began and they entered the field singing Called to Serve. It was an incredibly powerful moment. Presidente and I marched in last. Over the next couple of weeks, I hope to be able to make a video montage of the experience to share a little bit more. Después de la foto de la misión, subimos a micros escolares. (Si, los micros escolares son naranja y blanca en Argentina.) Viajamos a Club Atlético Independiente, que es el estadio donde otro equipo de fútbol juega.

Fue muy extraño tener mas o menos cuatro horas con casi nada que hacer sino charlar uo con el otro. Puedo decir que fue muy divertido charlar. Los misioneros trajeron su propia picnic en bolsas. Muchos de los miembros pararon de charlar también. Y deben escuchar los gritos cuando las pantallas grandes en el estadio mostraron a los misioneros.

El evento cultural nos contó la historia de la iglesia en Argentina por medio de sus canciones y bailes. Brianna tuvo la oportunidad de tener un rol en un grupo de baile.

Finalmente fue el momento de los misioneros. La música empezó y llegaron al campo, cantando Llamados a Servir. Fue un momento poderoso. El Presidente y yo fuimos los últimos.
